TRANSITIONS CHAMPIONSHIP OFFERING 14% DISCOUNT ON WEEKLY BADGES UNTIL FRIDAY
Transitions Championship fans will be rooting for 2010 winner Jim Furyk, two other past Transitions Championship winners or Transitions Optical spokesmen Kenny Perry or Trevor Immelman to win this weeks Greenbrier Classic, a new event on the PGA TOUR schedule.
As a new part of the Transitions Championship's weekly promotion, beginning this week at the Greenbrier Classic a win by a past winner of the Transitions Championship or a Transitions Optical spokesman will double the discount for that week, a discount that is determined by the winning scores on the PGA TOUR.
Carl Pettersson, a winner on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook, a Salamander Golf & Spa Resort, in 2005 scored 14 under par in winning last week's Canadian Open, so the Transitions Championship is offering a 14% discount on weekly badges and two hospitality packages for the 2011 tournament until 5 p.m. Friday. The offer is only good by phone at 727-942-5566.
The reduced prices are $76 for the $89 weekly badge, $429 for 20 Corporate Group Good Any Day Tickets (normally $499) and $1,200 for the Champions Sky Box Packages (normally $1,400 for two patrons for the entire week).
The same three items will be offered at a reduced price next week based on the results of the Greenbrier Classic with the applicable percentage being determined by the winner's score under par ? plus the opportunity for the discount to double.
"After Carl won, especially as we realized he did so wearing Transitions lenses, we got to thinking that we should do something special when one of 'our guys' wins," says Tournament Director Gerald Goodman. So beginning this week at The Greenbrier we're going to double it. Pettersson, Furyk and John Huston are in the field, as are Perry and Immelman, so that's five fine golfers who might trigger this great value. It's a new course for the TOUR players and they are playing it as a par-72, so they may go low. If one of these players wins at 20 under, that's 40% off or $53 for the weekly badges.
The 2011 Transitions Championship will be held March 14-20. Proceeds from the tournament have enabled The Copperheads, the group that organizes the tournament, to donate more than $25 million to area charities since 1977.
